Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how the World Alphabet mobile application (“the App”) handles information. The App is designed for children learning the English alphabet with a grown-up nearby.
Who we are
No account required
The App does not require creating an account, signing in with Apple, Google, or social networks, or providing a password. Learning can continue without registration.
Information we process
Depending on how the App is used, we may process:
- Anonymous device identifier — a random ID stored on the device and sent as a request header so progress can sync and restore for that device.
- Display name — an optional name entered in the App (for example, a child’s first name or nickname).
- Learning progress — letter stars, mastery status, streaks, and related learning totals.
- Game history — mini-game scores, duration, stars earned, and play timestamps.
- Technical metadata — such as interface language / locale and app version, when provided by the App.
- Optional uploads — if the App sends handwriting traces or similar practice media, those files are stored only to support the learning features that created them.
Photos
If you choose a profile photo in the App, that photo stays on the device. Photos are not uploaded to our servers as part of the profile or progress sync.
How we use information
- To save and restore learning progress for the same device
- To show recent game results and progress statistics
- To operate optional sync, backup, and world-today aggregates
- To improve reliability and diagnose service issues
- To respond if you contact us by email
Children
The App is intended to be used by children together with a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly ask children for contact details beyond what is needed for on-device learning (such as an optional display name). Parents can reset local progress in the App settings.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We do not share learning data with advertisers. Information is processed on our App backend at api.worldalphabet.cc to provide the service.
Retention
Progress, scores, and related records linked to an anonymous device ID are kept while needed to provide sync and restore. You may ask us to delete server-side data associated with a device code by emailing liamfernsby@icloud.com and including the device code shown in the App settings.
Security
We use HTTPS for API traffic and store only the data needed for the features above. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your choices
- Use the App offline — learning continues on the device
- Reset all local progress in Settings
- Contact us to request deletion of server-side records for a device
